Mastering the Loose Shorts Trend

Loose, baggy, and flowy shorts have become a fixture of summer fashion. They look comfortable, but it’s a trend that is difficult to get used to if you aren’t up for it. And even if you are a fan of the trend, it’s difficult to know how to wear them in ways that look fashionable instead of sloppy.

Loose shorts are a hot trend this summer, but many people are getting cold feet when it comes to wearing them. They come in so many different lengths and colors and seem to just flatter every body type, so why not wear them? You may be thinking to yourself that they are just a little too short. Whether you are wearing them to the beach or out to dinner, you may be afraid to flash the world. What if you are not fit enough? Or what if you are wearing them to a formal event? These are just a couple of the questions that may be running through your head. Today we are going to break down the loose shorts trend and make it easy for all women to be comfortable wearing them.

Summer is here and it has arrived with a bang: the loose-shorts trend is in full-swing. But if you’re not quite sure how to pull off this look, you’re not alone. There are a few rules to follow, though: the goal is to make the loose-shorts the focal point of your outfit; the shorts should be a solid color, not striped or patterned; and it’s best if the shorts are knee-length. If you’re not into the whole bare-leg look, you can keep the shorts high-waisted; just make sure to wear a short-sleeve top and tights underneath.

Shorts are my go-to in the summer heat. However, wearing denim shorts on a daily basis may become a little boring, so I’ve been experimenting with a new style that I’m really digging: loose shorts! They have a pajama-like feel, available in a variety of textures and patterns, and are very adaptable. They may be dressed up for a night out or worn simply for errands. Take a look at these three ensembles for various situations, all of which include loose shorts.

Option 1

Loose shorts are a fantastic way to dress up a casual weekend ensemble. To expose only a sliver of flesh and keep the appearance casual, try a fake crop top. Put on your favorite sunglasses and flat sandals for a day of roaming about town. Shorts from Urban Outfitters | Top from NastyGal | Sunglasses from Madewell | Sol Sana Sandals from Piperlime

Option 2

The great thing about loose shorts is that, unlike denim shorts, they can be dressed up for a dinner date or going out with friends. Try pairing them with a silk top. An embellished blouse or slinky tank are perfect options. Add ankle strap heels to complete the look. Urban Outfitters Shorts | Zara Top (similar here & here) | Steve Madden Heels

Option 3

Flowy shorts are more feminine and flirtatious, but they may also be worn in a more edgy manner. Begin by layering a loose, graphic shirt (half-tucked, of course) with a denim vest. Booties with a fedora or panama hat are great additions. ALDO Shoes | Urban Outfitters Hat | Urban Outfitters Shorts | Madewell Tee (similar) | Madewell Vest | ALDO Shoes
