I work in a male-dominated environment and after years of commiting the usual error and trying to act as a man and look like a man, I have decided to do the opposite and play to my strenghts - I wear pink suits to meetings (although pink is really not my favourite color, but it's better then the drag black all the time) and behave like a woman and not a tiny man with a high voice. However, I must agree with you - we are too often forced to "play the game" (all this unnecessary talking!) - it is so diappointing to see women flex their little muscles as they feel they must appear tougher then men in order to survive in the man's world.
